I am the Technology Manager for Multimedia here at Symbian.

I came from a semiconductors vendor, where I was working on customer design-ins for TV and set-top box silicon. I have an electronic engineering degree, but I've spent most of my career working on the software platforms that support chip designs. I think multimedia is an amazing concept, but one that must be treated as a toolbox - always keeping a firm eye on the requirements of the users of that toolbox.

I live in Chandlers Ford, a small town just north of Southampton. So my hobby is commuting - it must be, given how much time I spend doing it ;-)
