I'm currently consulting for the Symbian Foundation. I'm responsible for ensuring that the Wiki is well structured and easily navigable. I'm also responsible for defining the Wiki localisation/internationalisation strategy, and for managing the content migration from legacy Symbian websites.

If you have any suggestions about our wiki, either structure of content, I'm your go-to guy!

A bit about my career

For the last 10 years I've lead teams providing professional services in Symbian C++ to Symbian's partner and 3rd party developer community. As a leader I focus on leveraging the talents of team members in order to achieve project goals. I coach each individual to share their skills, and I systematically capture their positive contributions in ways that make it easy for others to emulate.

As a developer, I enjoy the challenge of solving technical problems, ranging from structuring a knowledge base and crafting code, to delivering training and presentations in Symbian C++.

When combined, my leadership and technical skills ensure my teams are high-performing and excel at creating, capturing and sharing information between technical and non technical audiences.

And about me ...

Leo the Lion
I live in Melbourne (Australia) with my wife Jen, three small boys, and a cat "Biscuit", that thinks he lives with us (his owner may think differently!).

My three small children ensure that life is never boring. We spend a lot of time on the trampoline (I guess you could say life has its "ups and downs"), swimming lessons, and adventures. We do a lot of walking, and in a year or two when Leo is no longer a toddler we'll be doing a lot of bike riding and start camping again.

I agree on the dire naming of Core idioms - can we come up with a better name? If we change the page name, can we set an autoforward? I'm just wanting to link to it from the bugs DB, and I don't want the link to break in the future...

Jo was here. Hamish, how long has it taken you to notice? That is, is this a practical way of contacting our users? Do they get notification when this page is edited, or do they have to set a watch?

Hamish: Right away. Will send you email on this topic

Nithya: Thanks for putting up the category in the Tracking Package feature. This page is yet to be linked and will be when consensus is reached.

  • I promised you a copy of the Demand Paging book didn't I? Will put one in the post on Tuesday.
  • In Mediawiki (the wiki engine you are running) when an user's page is modified the user is notified. Also when a page is renamed the software automatically creates a redirect (from the old name to the new name). --Bugmenot2 20:44, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
