The aim of the attached proposal is to identify the intended features for S^3 that provide a significant increment to the platform. keyfeatures.pdf
Once identified, these will be the focus of the release council and the release management team in S^3. The attached slide set contains contains a table where "Key Feature" column represent a multi-package theme to be implemented in S^3, "aim" column represents that ambition level for S^3. The package feature column contains relevant package backlog entries currently public. Please reply on this thread with your comments and views. |

I think WDP is more correctly expanded to Writable Data Paging (although this is far from the first time I've seen that particular version of the acronym). See this article by Dan Handley http://www.iqmagazineonline.com/IQ/I...3_pgs71-76.pdf

I think is probably useful to highlight what helps to add items to the key feature list:
* The feature has a large/complex integration * The feature has a pervasive impact on the platform * The feature is a headline selling point for the platform that raises interest in the community * The features is requested to be added by the release council This are guiding principles to draft proposals that have to be ratified by the councils. Then package sub-features that would add up to the "key feature" are selected by reviewing them with the technology managers and impacted package owners. |
